Chris is a Regional Vice President at one of Canada's largest wealth firms. With a dominant market share in Quebec and a growing national presence, the firm is in aggressive growth mode and using Capfluence to recruit the right advisors at scale.
The Challenge
We have a strong business. Deep roots in Quebec and a growing footprint across the country. But growth mode means something very specific for us right now. It is not just about adding advisors. It is about adding the right ones.
The opportunity we kept coming back to was the communities driving the most asset growth in Canada right now. South Asian and Chinese communities with strong referral networks, multigenerational wealth, and significant assets coming in from overseas. These communities trust advisors who understand their culture, speak their language, and come from the same background. That trust is not something you can manufacture. You either have it or you do not.
The challenge was finding advisors who had it. Advisors who spoke Mandarin, Punjabi, Hindi, or Arabic. Advisors who were deeply embedded in these communities and could build the kind of referral networks that compound over years. Recruiting them through traditional channels was slow, inconsistent, and largely ineffective. We were leaving a significant growth opportunity on the table.
The Approach
We brought Capfluence in as the foundation of our recruitment strategy across all regional vice presidents. The platform allowed us to search for advisors with the exact profile we were looking for. Cultural background, language capabilities, and existing networks inside the communities we were targeting.
Instead of waiting for advisors to come to us we started going to them. Capfluence surfaced the right candidates and gave us the intelligence to have a meaningful first conversation. We were not pitching a generic opportunity. We were showing these advisors that we understood their market, had a growth strategy built around their community, and could give them the infrastructure and support to build something significant.
We rolled this out consistently across every regional vice president so the recruitment approach was no longer dependent on individual networks or relationships. It became a system.

The Outcome
Our recruitment pipeline changed fundamentally. We stopped searching broadly and started finding precisely. The advisors we are bringing on are embedded in the exact communities we are targeting, and the referral networks they bring with them are already generating assets. The growth strategy that used to feel like a long-term bet is starting to compound now.
"We stopped searching broadly and started finding precisely."
